Belarusian electric company Belenergo to advance cooperation with Ural Turbine Works

MINSK, 10 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian national electric company Belenergo, the Russian Export Center, and Ural Turbine Works have signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document was signed during the international industrial expo Innoprom 2019 in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, the press service of Ural Turbine Works told BelTA.

The memorandum is meant to advance long-term cooperation in designing and making steam heating and condensing turbines, in providing equipment upgrade services, delivery of original parts, startup and commissioning, aftersales service, and installation of equipment at Belenergo enterprises.

In various years Ural Turbine Works supplied Belarus with 20 steam turbines, 13 of which now generate electricity and heat for consumers in Minsk, Mogilev, Vitebsk, Polotsk, Mozyr, and Grodno. The Russian company is now finishing the reconstruction of a PT-60 turbine at Grodno cogeneration plant No.2 and a large-scale reconstruction of Minsk cogeneration plant No.3.

Belenergo Director General Pavel Drozd noted that the new stage of cooperation would allow considerably improving the reliability and cost effectiveness of the Belarusian power grid.
