Belarusian delegation studies Zhejiang's electric transport best practices

MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) – A delegation led by Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister Igor Lyashenko paid a visit to the Chinese province of Zhejiang on 28-29 March to study the Chinese best practices in electric transport development, BelTA learned from the General Consulate of Belarus in Shanghai.

The delegation, which included First Deputy Industry Minister, Acting General Director of BelGee Gennady Svidersky, Belarus Consul General in Shanghai Valery Matsel, Chairman of the Borisov District Executive Committee Gennady Dengalev, and heads of BelAZ and BATE Piotr Parchomchik and Alexander Marchenko, visited a number of factories and research institutes of the Zhejiang carmaker Geely. The Belarusian delegation discussed with Chinese specialists the prospects for producing electric cars in Belarus, issues related to car assembling at the Belarusian-Chinese joint company BelGee. The parties outlined further ways of implementing the localization plan. The delegation also took part in the meeting of BelGee shareholders.

The Belarusian vice premier met with Deputy Secretary of the CPC Provincial Committee of Zhejiang Province, Secretary of the CPC Party Committee of Ningbo City Zheng Shanjie to discuss the ways of enhancing Belarus-Ningbo trade and investment cooperation, strengthening and expanding interregional cooperation with Borisov District, increasing exports of Belarusian products to the Chinese market.

Igor Lyashenko also met with President of Geely Auto Group An Conghui to decide on steps to enhance the efficiency of the BelGee plant, including the establishment of regular container rail transportation of auto parts to Belarus via the Silk Road Economic Belt route.
