Belarusian commodity exchange, Russia’s Bashkortostan Export Support Center sign cooperation agreement

MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) - The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) and the Export Support Center of the Republic of Bashkortostan of Russia have solidified their intentions to establish long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of exchange trade by signing a corresponding agreement. The ceremony took place during the International Business Week held in Ufa held on 3-5 December, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.

On behalf of BUCE, the document was signed by the head of the BUCE foreign economy department Yaroslav Kovalchuk and on behalf of the Export Support Center - by its director Tatyana Izotova. It is planned that work on the agreement will begin in the very near future as the parties aim to achieve even higher exchange trade between Belarus and Bashkortostan by the end of this year.

“In January-November, the total value of exchange transactions by trading participants from Bashkortostan has exceeded $5.4 million, which was twice the amount for the same period last year. Belarus’ deliveries of dry milk, butter, meat products, and lumber to Bashkortostan accounted for the lion's share of the trade.Only small volumes of ferrous metal products were purchased through import deals. In this regard, one of the key objectives of the cooperation agreement with the regional export center is to attract Bashkortostan goods producers to the BUCE Industrial and Consumer Goods section. This segment of the exchange market is ideally suited for small and medium-sized enterprises interested in promoting exports, allowing them to utilize the exchange's digital infrastructure as an alternative to traditional distribution networks,” Yaroslav Kovalchuk said.

Tatyana Izotova is also confident that the collaboration between BUCE and the Export Support Center of Bashkortostan will positively impact the dynamics of exchange trading volumes for Belarus and the Russian region. According to her, the exchange provides entrepreneurs with a range of tools that simplify operations in the external market and make them significantly more efficient. “I have no doubt that the exchange will open up new opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses in Bashkortostan, not only for sales but also for procuring goods from Belarus. This is especially true for producers of import-substituting goods who would like to supply their products to Belarusian consumers and also to acquire the necessary raw materials and components within the framework of industrial cooperation projects.”

As of 5 December 2025, some 33 trading participants from Bashkortostan were accredited on BUCE. This is five more than at the beginning of the year.
