Belarusian BelAZ to supply 11 haul trucks to Southern Kuzbass Coal Company

MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ will supply 11 haul trucks with the carrying capacity of 220 tonnes and 130 tonnes to Southern Kuzbass Coal Company, which is part of Mechel Group, Russia. The first truck is already in use, BelAZ representatives told BelTA.

The relevant contract was signed during the 26th international mining technology expo Coal of Russia and Mining.

Pavel Shtark, Director General of Mechel Mining Management Company, said: “Renewing the fleet of automobile vehicles is an important direction of the capital investment program at our mining enterprises. The new haul trucks will allow increasing the volume of mining and overburden removal.”

Four new haul trucks will be commissioned in July: two 220-tonne trucks and two 130-tonne trucks are being assembled in the assembly area. The BelAZ trucks are powered by reliable Cummins engines, a centralized oiling system, and a coolant preheater to ensure stable operation in the winter period. The refueling and fuel level control system allows using the vehicles more effectively. A high-voltage line proximity alarm, a firefighting system, and a tire pressure telemetry system considerably improve the level of safety.

The driver's cab is equipped with an air conditioner, a CCTV camera, and a LED display to show all the necessary parameters. The vehicles are also fitted with Southern Kuzbass Coal Company's proprietary dispatch system.
