Belarusian Belavtodor signs major contract in Ukraine

MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) - Belarusian road construction and maintenance company Belavtodor has signed a major contract to build a highway in Rovno Oblast, Ukraine, BelTA learned from Belavtodor-Ukraine's Facebook account.

“On 11 October we signed a road construction contract, the largest one for Belarusian enterprises in Ukraine. This contract to build a new section of the road in Rovno Oblast, which will be part of the future Rovno's Northern Bypass project, has been concluded between the Highway Maintenance Service and OAO Road and Construction Trest company No. 2, which part of Belavtodor Holding Company,” Belavtodor-Ukraine informed.

On 25 September, the Belarusian company beat the Turkish company Onur and Azerbaijani Evrascon to win the tender, one of the largest tenders held in Rovno Oblast. The sum of the contract is 745.999 million hryvnias, 10% less than the construction cost envisaged in the tender documentation. Thus, the Belarusian company will save almost 80 million hryvnias for the Ukrainian budget.

Construction of a new asphalt concrete road, which will have two lanes in each direction, will be launched this year and complete by the end of 2020.

Belavtodor intends to further increase its presence in the Ukrainian road construction market.
