The agreement with the Karelia government on setting up an integrated factory to make forest harvesting machines was signed in December 2018. The production floor of the Onego tractor plant was acquired to set up the enterprise in March 2019.

The special investment contract is designed to last for ten years. It provides for a number of tax reliefs and preferences. Plans have been made to invest RUB14 billion in reconstructing and equipping Amkodor-Onego. The project provides for making at least 1,000 vehicles per annum and launching the production of more than ten models of modern forest harvesting machines. An engineering and technology center will be established as well as an aftersales service center. Initially the enterprise will make vehicles by assembling SKD kits. The enterprise is supposed to reach the designed output capacity by 2030.

Later on Amkodor-Onego intends to start making new harvester models Amkodor FH3081 and heavy forwarder models Amkodor FF1681. The models are compliant with international standards, boast a modern style and improved reliability, high performance and comfortable working conditions for the driver.
