MINSK, 31 December (BelTA) – The Industry Ministry and the Agriculture and Food Ministry are busy working out a comprehensive program for realizing projects in Equatorial Guinea, BelTA learned from Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Relations of the Belarusian Industry Ministry Vitaly Borchuk.

The program envisages deliveries of Belarusian machines, equipment, and vehicles for mechanizing the agriculture, for electrifying remote agricultural areas, for beautifying and cleaning territories, waste recycling, construction, for ensuring fire safety in the country. The relevant agreements were reached during a recent official visit of the Belarus president to Equatorial Guinea. The Industry Ministry delegation was led by Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik.

Vitaly Borchuk said: “Ensuring food security, particularly in remote countries, is closely connected to deliveries of the relevant agricultural machines. A comprehensive approach is needed starting with clearing the lands – deforestation, soil cultivation followed by crop seeding, crop harvesting, transportation. The Industry Ministry together with the Agriculture and Food Ministry is now working out a comprehensive program for realizing the agreements reached during the visit to Equatorial Guinea. The potential is colossal. We are talking about training the personnel to operate machines and equipment, about setting up aftersales service centers because the machines and vehicles are sophisticated and need maintenance during the warranty period and afterwards. Then there are grain storage facilities and comprehensive projects focusing on agrotowns. In particular, it is necessary to take care of utilities in agrotowns – street sweeping, waste processing. We can offer the appropriate solutions. We are also talking about electrification. Minsk Engine Plant can offer diesel generators for remote regions of African countries.”
