
MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – Current matters of Belarus-Russia cooperation in the gas sector were discussed at the Council of Ministers, BelTA learned from the Belarusian government press service following a working meeting between Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich and Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom Alexey Miller.
The talks focused on Gazprom Transgas Belarus’ efforts to prepare the country's gas transportation infrastructure for the autumn-winter season. It was noted that the work, including the injection of gas into Belarusian underground storage facilities, is proceeding on schedule.
“The measures being implemented will ensure reliable supplies of the required volumes of gas to consumers during the heating season,” the press service said.
Gazprom Transgaz Belarus, a wholly owned subsidiary of Gazprom, operates the gas transmission system on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
