MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ Economy Ministry and the Ministry of Trade of Türkiye held web-based interim consultations on the draft agreement on trade in services. The consultations actually restarted the negotiations, the last round of which took place in 2022, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.
During the event, special emphasis was placed on the chapters aimed at developing sectoral cooperation between Belarus and Türkiye, including the chapters on digital trade, financial, postal, telecommunications, transport and logistics services.
On behalf of Belarus the consultations were attended by representatives of the Finance Ministry, the Communications and Informatization Ministry, the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART), the National Center for Personal Data Protection, the Operations and Analysis Center under the Belarus President, the State Customs Committee, and the BAMAP association.
Following the meeting, the parties made significant progress in finalizing the text of the draft agreement. In addition, a preliminary agreement was reached to exchange mutual requests for access to the services market.
Belarus and Türkiye expressed interest in completing the negotiations during 2025.
