Belarus to help Uzbekistan to set up energy efficiency testing laboratory

MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) - The Belarusian State Institute for Standardization and Certification (BelGISS) will assist Uzbekistan's OOO TEXNOPARK with setting up an energy efficiency testing laboratory, the press service of of the Belarusian State Committee for Standardization told BelTA following the talks.

A delegation of OOO TEXNOPARK visited Belarus as a follow-up to the agreements reached between Prime Ministers if belarus and Uzbekistan, Roman Golovchenko and Abdulla Aripov, during a tour of the enterprise in April 2022. The project to set up a laboratory to test products for energy efficiency in Uzbekistan will be the starting point of cooperation. "We need such a laboratory," said Dzhavlon Kattakhodzhayev, chief specialist for standardization and certification at OOO TEXNOPARK.

BelGISS, the testing center tests of a wide range of products and equipment, will assist the partner with the technical requirements and methods of testing

The Uzbek side is primarily interested in washing machines, television receivers, refrigerators, ovens, and also testing of products to determine hazardous substances in electrical products within the framework of the RoHS directive. Belarusian specialists will also advise on the list of necessary equipment, competencies, methods for determining the operational characteristics of the above-mentioned products. BelGISS will also test a number of products of Uzbek organizations.

The Uzbek side expressed interest in cooperation in the field of conformity assessment and quality within the framework of other projects implemented in OOO TEXNOPARK. BelGISS director Aleksandr Skuratov received an invitation to visit OOO TEXNOPARK in the near future.

OOO TEXNOPARK runs 17 projects to create high-tech, competitive, export-oriented and import-substituting manufactures of industrial products and household appliances.
