MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast is currently experiencing a shortage of construction workers, so it will be glad to hire Belarusian builders and designers, Novosibirsk Oblast Construction Minister Aleksei Kolmakov said during a discussion of promising areas of cooperation between Belarus and the Russian region at the Architecture and Construction Ministry of Belarus, BelTA has learned.
On 25-27 June, a Novosibirsk Oblast delegation led by the region’s Construction Minister Aleksei Kolmakov is on an official visit to Belarus. The delegation met with Belarus’ Deputy Architecture and Construction Minister Aleksandr Balashenko and Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Builders Anatoly Nichkasov at the headquarters of the Architecture and Construction Ministry of Belarus. The parties discussed cooperation in the construction sector and implementation of new projects.
“Before our meeting, I have studied some data. We supply a number of building materials to Novosibirsk Oblast: tiles, glass, reinforced concrete products. If you are interested in other products, we will be glad to discuss it. Our enterprises have enough capacities for any of your projects,” Aleksandr Balashenko told his Russian counterparts.
The deputy minister invited representatives of the Novosibirsk Oblast construction industry to consider other areas of cooperation beyond the export of building materials. One of them is cooperation in construction and design. According to Aleksandr Balashenko, Belarus is interested in taking part in projects requiring specialists who mount metal structures, technological equipment, etc.
“We are ready to cooperate with Novosibirsk Oblast across a number of areas, from the supply of building materials and industrial goods to project implementation. I know that you are curious about our designs related to the subway construction,” he noted.
In turn, Novosibirsk Oblast Construction Minister Aleksei Kolmakov spoke about personnel shortage in the region. “We are building a lot, we are running large-scale projects. So, last year we commissioned an ice palace for 10,500 spectators. We also hired specialists from Belarus, who have proven themselves very well. We were happy with their work. We need not only construction workers, but also talented designers. Examination procedures in our region might take six months. In this regard, we will be glad to cooperate in this area,” noted Aleksei Kolmakov.
The program of the Russian delegation's visit to Belarus includes a visit to the Belstroytsentr company and Belgosproekt Institute to map out projects and formats of cooperation in the designated areas.
