MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – Belarus intends to increase exports of agricultural products to Africa and Asia, Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Shuleiko said on the sidelines of the international wholesale exhibition Prodexpo 2025 in Minsk on 11 November, BelTA has learned.
According to him, Russia remains the key export market for Belarus, but it must enter African and Asian markets as well. “These are regions where our products are still little known, but they deserve to be in demand. It is important for the country to export 60-70% of its products,” the deputy prime minister emphasized.
Yuri Shuleiko noted that the annual exhibition aims to showcase the country’s resources as fully as possible and to invite partners and colleagues from other countries who also wish to demonstrate their achievements in the sector. “Everything being done in our country speaks to its export potential. This year we expect our food exports to hit a record high of $9 billion,” he pointed out.
Prodexpo is Belarus’ leading sectoral food exhibition, organized by the National Exhibition Center Belexpo of the Presidential Property Management Directorate and the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, with support of Belgospishcheprom Concern.
The exhibition brings together producers and suppliers of food and beverages. For professionals in the food industry, Prodexpo is a major showcase: premieres of new foods and gastronomic products, demonstrations of technologies and solutions for production, from everyday staples to gourmet delicacies, festive snacks, and specialized diets, are all featured here.
