Belarus' plan on green economy to bolster environmental, innovative programs 2021-2025

MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) - The Economy Ministry of Belarus has commented on the national action plan on green economy for 2021-2025 approved by governmental resolution No.710 of 10 December 2021, BelTA learnt from the press service of the ministry.

“Although the plan on green economy has been approved only now, many of its provisions, especially its environmental agenda, the introduction of innovation, sustainable development based on the rational use of natural resources, have been reflected in the five-year program. Today the whole world is following the ‘green path', albeit at different speeds. In Belarus this plan sets a practice-oriented trajectory, providing for the implementation of promising innovative ideas in the regions based on local resources and creating comfortable living conditions for people. For example, the development of electric transport, as well as other Belarusian projects of the future, is meant to meet both of these strategic objectives, and not to the detriment of the Belarusian nature,” Deputy Economy Minister Tatiana Brantsevich said.

In her words, the synergy of the two policy documents will help the Belarusian economy to develop in the current five years in a balanced manner, at a higher technological level and on a sustainable basis.
