MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) - Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov held a meeting with a delegation of the Republic of Nicaragua headed by Managua Mayor Reina Juanita Rueda Alvarado, BelTA learned from the Industry Ministry of Belarus.
The talks were also attended by Nicaragua’s Vice Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Félix Bladimir Granados Echegoyén and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Russian Federation and concurrently the Republic of Belarus Alba Azucena Torres Mejia.
Belarus noted the progressive development of bilateral cooperation. Aleksandr Yefimov assured that the Industry Ministry remains committed to building up the industrial dialogue between Belarus and Nicaragua. The ministry is ready to provide the necessary assistance to the projects to supply engineering goods for the needs of Nicaragua’s cities , including the capital city of Managua. The matter is about the supply of trucks, buses, electric buses and road-building equipment.
Within the framework of the visit, the Nicaraguan delegation toured the AMKODOR, MAZ, Belkommunmash and MTZ engineering companies to get familiar with the line-ups and work out specific commercial proposals.
The Belarusian Industry Ministry attaches great importance to bilateral cooperation and considers the Republic of Nicaragua as one of the gateways to the Latin American market. Last year, the foreign ministries of Belarus and Nicaragua signed a general intergovernmental agreement on the provision of export credits, which provides additional opportunities for cooperation.
