MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) – Over 11.1 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed and corn, have been harvested in Belarus so far, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
“As of 1 December, some 11,119,000 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed and corn, were cropped in Belarus. The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast - 2.775 million tonnes, Brest Oblast - 2.219 million tonnes, Grodno Oblast - 2.192 million tonnes, Gomel Oblast - 1.450 million tonnes, Mogilev Oblast - 1.404 million tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast - 1.079 million tonnes,” the press service said.
Belarus has harvested 99% of areas planted to grain and leguminous crops, including corn, which makes up 2,278,000 hectares. Average grain yield (with corn) is 43.7 centners per hectare, 5.6 centners per hectare higher than last year’s level.
The harvest of flax straw totals 215,000 tonnes, with a yield that is 12.2 centners per hectare higher than the previous year.
Sugar beet harvest has yielded 6,058,000 tonnes. Some 88% of the harvested beets have been transported to sugar beet collection points (5,347,000 tonnes).
Autumn tillage has been carried out on 1,418,000 hectares, representing 99% of the target area of 1.432 million hectares.
