
MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) - Over 8.3 million tonnes of grain has been threshed in Belarus so far, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 27 August, some 8,357,000 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, were cropped in Belarus.
The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast harvested 2.109 million tonnes, Grodno Oblast- 1.679 million tonnes, Brest Oblast – 1.663 million tonnes, Mogilev Oblast- 1.126 million tonnes, Gomel Oblast- 995,000 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast – 785,000 tonnes.
Belarus has harvested 91% of areas planted to grain and leguminous crops, which makes up 2,192,000 hectares.
Average grain yield is 8.4 centners per hectare higher than last year’s level.
Some 574,000 tonnes of food grain have been delivered under the state procurement program, representing 82% of the target.
Winter rapeseed for grain has been sown across 436,000 hectares, representing 100% of the planned area.
Flax has been pulled from 44,000 hectares, accounting for 91% of the planned area.
Some 394,000 tonnes of hay (55% of the plan) and 12.384 million tonnes of haylage (89% of the plan) have been prepared so far, including 404,000 tonnes stored in polymer packaging.
Forage production has reached 3.816 million tonnes (38% of the target).
Over 33,000 tonnes of potatoes have already been harvested, with the average yield above last year’s by 89.1 centners per hectare.
