MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt Yevgeny Sobolevsky met with Egyptian Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs Wael Hamed on 3 September, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation with a focus on trade and economic relations and joint projects in industry, food security, and agriculture.
The parties agreed upon concrete steps to enhance cooperation between relevant agencies and a schedule of bilateral events in the near future, including contacts at the highest and high levels.
On the same day, the ambassador met with Hamdi Shaaban, Egyptian Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of the International Cooperation for Development Department.
The meeting addressed Belarus-Egypt cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats. The parties noted that the two countries hold similar positions on several international and regional matters.
