Belarus' Development Bank to invest Br967m in state programs in 2020

MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – In 2020 Belarus' Development Bank will invest Br966.77 million in state programs and other activities in line with the financing plan approved by Resolution No. 41 of the Council of Ministers of 24 January 2020, which was officially published on Belarus' National Legal Internet Portal on 28 January, BelTA has learned.

In particular, in accordance with Resolution No. 934 of Belarus' Council of Ministers of 28 December 2019 “On financing state programs and projects in 2020”, Br509.92 million will be allocated for policy-based lending, with Br456.85 million to be earmarked for non-policy-based loans. For instance, the Development Bank will fund the construction and improvement of transport infrastructure, airstrips, and also the renovation and building of overpasses.

The currency of the loan is determined by the lender in agreement with the loan recipient in compliance with the legal act which approves the respective state program or project.
