Belarus' Council of Ministers adopts work plan for H1

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – The work plan of the Council of Ministers and the Presidium of the Council of Ministers for the first half of 2021 was approved by Government Decree No. 15 as of 16 January 2021. It was officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal on 17 January, BelTA informs.

The Council of Ministers will review the social and economic development of Belarus in 2020 and in Q1 2021 at its sessions.

The Presidium of the Council of Ministers will discuss employment, hidden income and tax evasion by individuals, the sugar and flax industries, efforts to counter drug trafficking, problems related to housing and utility services and the construction industry.

Top on the agenda will be the readiness of agricultural companies for spring field work. Officials will also review the provision of state support to agricultural producers in 2020 and the fulfillment of the conditions for its provision.

They will also study the effectiveness of measures to accelerate social and economic development of 11 cities with a population of 80,000 people or more, the outcomes of the financial recovery efforts of the agro-industrial complex, the implementation of state programs.

The Presidium of the Council of Ministers will consider the conceptual framework of the forecast of Belarus' socio-economic development for 2022 and for the period up to 2024, the main avenues of the fiscal and tax policy of Belarus for 2022 and the medium-term financial program for 2022-2024.

In the first half of the year, the government will also discuss export diversification, import substitution and measures to improve the efficiency of the latter.
