Belarus' Barkhim mulls over exports to UAE

BREST, 10 March (BelTA) – Baranovichi-based household and industrial chemicals manufacturer Barkhim is interested in promoting its products to the United Arab Emirates and is mulling over export options, BelTA learned from director of the company Svetlana Shleptsova.

“Due to coronavirus restrictions, purchases in the markets are quite cautious, in small batches. One of Barkhim's development priorities is cooperation with the EU countries and the United Arab Emirates. We held negotiations with representatives of UAE companies in the Brest free economic zone, and they expressed interest in our products both in terms of price and quality,” said Svetlana Shleptsova.

Barkhim plans to promote its products in the new market through a distributor. First, the company plans to export children's and premium-segment goods. “We specified certification issues, we have all the necessary documents. We are in talks with a number of companies that work directly in the UAE,” the head of the company said.

According to Svetlana Shleptsova, Barkhim's major exports goes to Russia. The products of the Baranovichi company are also available in the stores of Lithuania, Latvia and Georgia. The company is also mulling over supplies to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and the supplies of its eco-line products to Sweden.

Barkhim has been rebranded, changing the collection and formulation of its detergents. New product lines have been developed including children's, economy, medium-standard, and premium (eco-products).
