Belarus, Azerbaijan plan to expand cooperation in agriculture 

MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Azerbaijan plan to expand their agricultural partnership, BelTA learned from the press service of the Agriculture and Food Ministry of Belarus.

In Azerbaijan, Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vitaly Kulak held negotiations with Chairman of Azerbaijan's Food Safety Agency, Goshgar Tahmazli. The parties discussed a wide range of issues aimed at expanding bilateral agricultural cooperation. Consideration was given to the joint production of veterinary drugs in Azerbaijan,a project of strategic importance for ensuring veterinary well-being and the sustainable development of livestock farming.

The parties also discussed the recognition of the equivalence of Belarus' certification system for enterprises involved in the production and processing of poultry, poultry meat, by-products, and eggs, the inclusion of Belarusian agricultural plant varieties that have undergone testing in the country into Azerbaijan's national registry, and the further growth of mutual trade in food products.

Vitaly Kulak noted the interest of the Belarusian side in strengthening trust, harmonizing requirements, and implementing specific investment initiatives, including the localization of veterinary drug production.

The parties reaffirmed commitment to continuing the dialogue and coordinating efforts to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes in the agricultural sector.
