Algorithm of tax maneuver compensation to Belarus to be finalized by 15 December

MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – The algorithm of awarding compensation to the Belarusian economy in view of the tax maneuver in Russia's oil industry should be worked out by 15 December, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko told the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“Negotiators in Belarus and Russia have general understanding of the matter. Negotiations are not easy. One of the tasks is to find a solution to this issue. The latest protocol that I signed with Kozak as I was vice premier set the deadline: by 15 December we should come up with a formula, an algorithm to move on, to offset the tax maneuver in Russia and Belarus. This is one of the matters. However, the government has the embassy in Russia, just like in other countries, to help address issues related to product supplies. There are issues with machinery supplies and these issues should also be resolved,” Vladimir Semashko said.

It was reported earlier, that Belarus and Russia will finalize the amount of compensation for the Belarusian economy in view of the tax maneuver in Russia's oil industry by the end of 2018. As soon as the tax maneuver in the oil industry is over, Russia will offer internal compensations to its oil industry in the form of budgetary subsidies. There is no mechanism like that in Belarus. Ways to unify these approaches will be discussed during the talks.
