About 250 machines, vehicles made by Belarusian MAZ, Amkodor shipped to Nicaragua

MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Cuba with concurrent accreditation to Nicaragua Vitaly Borchuk met with Chairman of the Central Bank of Nicaragua Leonardo Ovidio Reyes Ramirez in Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

Advisor to the Co-Presidents of Nicaragua on Investment, Trade and International Cooperation Laureano Ortega Murillo also took part in the meeting.

The parties discussed in detail the current state of Belarusian-Nicaraguan interbank cooperation, analyzed the implementation of previously signed agreements, and outlined concrete steps to expand existing effective mechanisms of cooperation and develop new ones.

The ambassador also took part in a ceremony to hand over another large batch of construction, freight, and municipal vehicles and machines made by the Belarusian companies MAZ and Amkodor (248 units) to the Nicaraguan side.

The Nicaraguan side was represented during the event by Advisor to the Co-Presidents of Nicaragua on Investment, Trade and International Cooperation Laureano Ortega Murillo, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Oscar Mojica, Attorney General Wendy Morales, and Managua Mayor Reina Ruedas.

The transferred hardware will be used for the construction and maintenance of highways and municipal roads as well as for keeping the street and road network clean and tidy.

Belarus and Nicaragua reaffirmed their commitment to further advancing their partnership and strengthening economic, technical, and financial ties, which opens up new opportunities for effective long-term interaction.
