Novopolotsk to host international athletics competition 25-27 November

VITEBSK, 25 November (BelTA) – Athletes from four European countries will compete in throwing events in the Belarusian city of Novopolotsk. The international competition for the prizes of Beijing Olympics silver medallist Vadim Devyatovsky will run from 25 through 27 November, BelTA learned from the Novopolotsk City Hall.

Partaking in the tournament will be athletes from Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, and different parts of Belarus. The competition will be hosted at the Atlant sports center.

“The special feature of this competition is that among its participants will be athletes of all age groups, from adults (born in 1995 or earlier) to juniors (born in 2004 or later). The youngest competitor is nine years old. Partaking in this year's competition will be world-class athletes Yuri Shayunov and Sergei Kolomoyets,” chief judge of the international athletics competition Vasily Barsukov noted.

The opening ceremony will take place at the Atlant sports center on 26 November.
