Exhibition project of leading artists of Belarus, Russia opens in Minsk

MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) - The Union State - Unity through Culture, an exhibition project of leading artists of Belarus and Russia, has opened at the National Library of Belarus (NBB), BelTA has learned.

“It is no coincidence that the exhibition is hosted by the National Library of Belarus, a symbol of spirituality that unites,” said Marianna Shchetkina, head of the representative office of the Standing Committee of the Union State in Minsk. She stressed that today visitors to the exhibition  have a unique opportunity to see the works of contemporary artists and to talk to them.

Marianna Shchetkina noted that the works on display are different but they have something in common, namely our values and our Belarusian-Russian unity which is conveyed through kindness, light and love.

"We are very grateful to everyone who supported our exhibition. I am sure that this is the beginning of large projects that will give Belarusians and Russians an opportunity to learn more about artists and their works," Marianna Shchetkina said.

The exhibition project started in the Yabloko Hall of the Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery at the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts in Moscow on 26 March. It was implemented by the Standing Committee of the Union State together with the Russian Academy of Arts, the Belarusian Union of Artists, the Russian Academy of Arts, the Ministries of Culture of Belarus and Russia. The aim of the project is to highlight the unifying power of art in the contemporary world. This is a unique initiative promoting intercultural dialogue and the Union State development and showcasing deep ties between the cultures of the two countries.
