Belarus sixth in Regular Senior High at World Robot Olympiad

MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian team came sixth in the Regular Senior High category during the World Robot Olympiad that took place in New Delhi, India in late November, BelTA learned from Pavel Mikhalenya, brand manager at the Belarusian educational company OOO Robotics School.

As many as 93 teams competed in the Regular Senior High category.

The Belarusian team finished 11th in the Open Junior category and 22nd and 51st in the Regular Junior category. The Belarusian team ended up 58th and 62nd in the Regular Junior High category.

The Belarusian team secured the 27th position in the WRO Football category. Apart from that, Belarus ended up 12th and 14th in the Advanced Robotics Challenge.

The World Robot Olympiad (WRO) is a global robotics competition for young people from 55 countries. The Belarusian team took part in the forum for the third time.

The World Robot Olympiad was first held in Singapore in 2004. The competitions use the Lego Mindstorms series of kits that contain software and hardware to create customizable, programmable robots. They include an intelligent brick computer that controls the system, a set of modular sensors and motors, and Lego parts to create the mechanical systems.
