Belarus shows interest in Slovakia's nuclear security practices

MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – The Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus approved the draft law on the ratification of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Slovak Republic on cooperation and mutual assistance in emergencies, BelTA has learned.

According to Emergencies Minister Vladimir Vashchenko, Belarus shows interest in Slovakia's experience taking into account the construction of the nuclear power plant and stress tests.

The agreement envisages the regulation of such issues of the Belarusian-Slovak mutual relations in the area of preventing and mitigating the consequences of emergencies, the ways to simplify the rules of movement for rescuers and experts, provision with materials for mutual assistance, the exchange of sci-tech information in protecting the population and territories of the two states from emergencies, the exchange of experience, experts and other areas.
