Lukashenko: Garlyk project demonstrates high potential of Belarus-Turkmenistan cooperation

ASHGABAT, 30 March (BelTA) – The implementation of a joint project to build the Garlyk mining and processing factory demonstrates a high potential of cooperation between Belarus and Turkmenistan, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the extended talks with Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow on 30 March, BelTA has learned.

“The successful implementation of this ambitious joint project to build the Garlyk mining and processing factory has once again demonstrated a high potential of our cooperation,” the President said.

The head of state remarked that the project was implemented jointly in accordance with the existing arrangements. “We are not great capitalists. We do not take certain things and leave. We have agreed that we will bring technologies and train people. And today many Turkmens can proudly say that they have mastered these technologies,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed. “We will do what we still need to do. We have recently discussed it.”

“We are ready to continue our work regarding the maintenance of the project, personnel training. You will never have problems with personnel. You can arrive in Belarus at any time, send your specialists for training. We will work here until the factory reaches the estimated capacity,” the Belarusian leader assured.
