Lukashenko explains difficulties in selling Belarusian products in Russia

MOGILEV, 21 March (BelTA) – Difficulties in selling Belarusian products in Russia were explained as Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met with Kronospan Company workers in Mogilev on 21 March, BelTA has learned.

According to the head of state, there are certain difficulties with selling Belarusian food in Russia. Quality of Belarusian food is not the problem. The fact that Russian manufacturers sometimes cannot handle the competition is.

“They cannot compete with us because we have created good enterprises. Let's use the Mogilev-based company Babushkina Krynka as an example. It is a Belarusian brand. One of the world's best companies. It makes just wonderful products. It is an excellent manufacturer and there are many companies like this in Belarus. There is at least one of them in every oblast and there are two in some oblasts. This is why Russian manufacturers cannot compete with us,” said Alexander Lukashenko.

The President also added that if economic problems occur in Russia, Belarus will be affected, too, because a considerable amount of Belarusian products is sold in Russia. “Not everything depends on us,” said the head of state.
