Latvian foreign minister to visit Belarus 18-20 July

MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkevics will pay a visit to Belarus from 18 to 20 July, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told a press briefing on 13 July, BelTA has learned.

Edgars Rinkevics will meet with his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei. The parties will discuss a wide range of matters of bilateral cooperation and also exchange opinions on the situation in the region and prospects for collaboration between Belarus and the European Union.

“Latvia and Belarus have been exchanging visits of foreign ministers annually since 2013,” Dmitry Mironchik added.

The Latvian delegation will also meet with representatives of the Government of Belarus and the Economy Ministry.

Besides, Florence Mangin, Director of the Continental Europe Directorate at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Andreas Peschke, Director for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, will visit Belarus from 17 to 19 July.

The delegation will meet with Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko. The parties will discuss ways to further intensify the cooperation between Belarus and the European Union, the situation in the region, and matters related to Belarus' cooperation with France and Germany.

The delegation will have meetings at the Belarus President Administration and the National Assembly of Belarus.
