Boschi: Italy determined to promote economic dialogue with Eurasia countries

VERONA, 19 October (BelTA) - Italy is determined to promote economic dialogue with Russia and countries of Eurasia, Secretary of the Council of Ministers of Italy Maria Elena Boschi said during the opening ceremony of the 10th Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona, BelTA has learned.

“Italy has consistently played the role of the organizer of the dialogue and the author of constructive relations with the countries of Eurasia. We remain an open channel for communication with Russia, China and other states concerned,” Maria Elena Boschi said.

According to her, Italy is set to improve relations and business dialogue with all who are taking part in the Eurasian Economic Forum today. “Common geopolitical context is changing and we need to take advantage of available opportunities,” Maria Elena Boschi added.

Mayor of Verona Federico Sboarina expressed his conviction that the Verona forum will make a great contribution towards addressing the issues of business and investment cooperation. “We hope that Verona will serve as the gateway for multilateral business initiatives and aspirations,” he said and added that thanks to its lively and busy economic activities the city is the second largest administrative center in the region Veneto.

The forum has brought together eminent representatives of politics, business and society, including former Italy Prime Minister Romano Prodi, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Grigory Rapota, representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Belarus Ambassador to Italy Alexander Guryanov.
