Belarus, Sweden sketch out prospects of joint work in UN

MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – Prospects of Belarus and Sweden working together in the United Nations Organization were discussed during the meeting of Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Belarus Martin Aberg on 31 May, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

During the meeting the sides discussed opportunities for expanding Belarus-Sweden cooperation in the United Nations Organization. Reaching the Sustainable Development Goals, international technical cooperation, the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement, international cooperation in Chernobyl-related affairs, fight against trafficking in persons, efforts to ensure international security and counteraction of terrorism were mentioned among promising avenues of joint work.

Valentin Rybakov and Martin Aberg agreed that close cooperation on items on the international agenda could make a considerable contribution to bolstering the bilateral relations between Belarus and Sweden.
