Belarus, Hungary consider aligning priorities of presidencies in CEI, Visegrad Group

MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) - Belarus and Hungary agreed that it would be reasonable to align the priorities of their presidencies in the Central European initiative and the Visegrad Group, Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko said in an interview with the Magyar Hirlap newspaper, BelTA learned.

“We discussed this issue with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Hungary, and agreed that it would be reasonable to align the priorities of the Belarusian presidency in the Central European Initiative and the Hungarian presidency in Visegrad Group which will begin in July 2017. We talked about the common interests, the stabilization of the situation in the region, the digital technology. For us these are very important issues,” Oleg Kravchenko said.

Belarus CEI Presidency will focus on improving transport links in Europe, convergence of standards, coordination of customs issues. “We are waiting for the Hungarian presidency in the Visegrad Group and hope that it will be productive not only for the participating states but also for neighboring countries,” Oleg Kravchenko added.
