Belarus' business potential, tourism potential presented in Berlin

MINSK, 14 June (BelTA) – The business and tourism potential of Belarus was presented in Berlin as part of the working visit of Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko to Germany. In Germany the official took part in the eighth annual forum EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

In his speech Oleg Kravchenko drew attention to Belarus' contribution to stronger security, stability, and prosperity of the region. He underlined the importance of expanding multifaceted inclusive regional cooperation and getting all the interested countries involved. As priority avenues of this cooperation the Belarusian deputy minister of foreign affairs mentioned interconnectivity, environmental protection, and education.

Experts of the Belarusian Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry and the Belarusian State University presented individual aspects of Belarus' cooperation with the Baltic region countries, in particular, in environmental affairs and education, before participants of the forum. A national stand of Belarus was arranged during the forum, with business and tourism potential of the country heavily featured.

While in Berlin the Belarusian deputy minister of foreign affairs held a number of bilateral meetings. Apart from that, Oleg Kravchenko talked to leading experts on Eastern Europe of the German Association of Foreign Policy (DGAP) and the German Institute for International and Security Affairs to exchange opinions about a broad range of foreign policy matters. Agreements were reached on establishing contacts and cooperation between analytical agencies of Belarus and Germany.
