ABU DHABI, 10 May (BelTA - Emirates News Agency) - The Higher Organising Committee of the UAE President's Cup World Series for Purebred Arabian Horses announced the calendar for the upcoming 31st edition of the international event.

The race series is being held with the support and guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, to enhance the stature of the Arabian Horse, preserve its authentic heritage, and support plans for its care in all countries, in line with the vision and approach of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The programme for the new edition in 2024 involves 15 races, nine of which are held in European tracks, five in Arab tracks, and one in the US.

The competitions will begin next Sunday at the Longchamp Racecourse in France as part of the UAE 2000 Guinées and Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, which is one of the most prestigious races in the world. This will be followed by races in Tunisia on 9th June, Italy on 23rd June, Poland on 7th July, Sweden on 14th July, and Belgium on 5th August.

Events will also be held in the UK on 17th August, Russia on 30th August, Germany on 1st September, the Netherlands on the 22nd in the same month, Egypt on 19th October, Libya on 27th October, and Morocco on 17th November, culminating in the final stage in Saudi Arabia on 11th December.

The organising committee also recently announced the continuation of a series of races within the President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses in South America, which will include participation from countries such as Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile.

This initiative aims to encourage and support horse owners and breeders in South American countries, with a focus on the responsible breeding, acquisition, and care of Arabian Horses. By organising these races, the committee aims to increase breeding levels and help revive the Arabian Horse.

Matar Suhail Al Dhahiri, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE’s leadership during the announcement of the event’s 2024 agenda, underscoring the support provided for its 31st edition.

The President’s Cup spans 15 countries across the globe, encompassing all renowned racetracks and involving dedicated owners and breeders of Arabian Horses, he added.

“The remarkable progress witnessed by this outstanding event annually is a genuine realisation of the benevolent attention bestowed by our wise leadership. Their commitment to advancing the race series and attaining leading global ranks reflects the UAE’s unwavering dedication to supporting the extensive community of Arabian Horse owners and breeders around the world,” Al Dhahiri said.

Faisal Al Rahmani, General Supervisor of the UAE President's Cup World Series for Purebred Arabian Horses, expressed pride in unveiling the event’s 31st edition agenda.

“This annual event occupies a prominent position on the international horse racing calendar and carries great significance. Its importance stems not only from its prestigious name but also from its alignment with the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan,” he said.

“I extend my thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his unwavering support and pivotal role in elevating our race series to the highest international ranks. We also recognise his profound interest in encouraging owners and breeders to enhance the status of the Arabian Horse.
