Six gold medals for Belarus at Botvinnik Youth Memorial Tournament

MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won six gold medals at the Vladimir Botvinnik Youth Memorial Tournament, BelTA has learned.

Irina Vinogradova (54kg) from Gomel, Marina Mulyarchik (57kg) from Grodno, and Minsk's Karina Antipina (75kg) celebrated victories in the girls' event.

Gold medals in the boys' event went to Vladislav Smolovsky (49kg) and Aleksandr Dovnar (64kg) from Bobruisk, and Minsk's Kirill Levankov (56kg).

The tournament that finished at the Minsk Chizhovka Arena on 16 October featured 98 athletes born in 2002-2003 from six countries: Belarus, Georgia, China, Russia, Uzbekistan, and France.

The international tournament celebrating Vladimir Botvinnik, the USSR Honored Master of Sports, Honored Coach of Belarus, is one of the few youth competitions on the calendar of the European Boxing Confederation.
