LOGOISK DISTRICT, 12 February (BelTA) - The National Alpine Skiing Center Silichi has welcomed more than 70,000 visitors so far this winter season, Chief marketer Diana Pavlovich said during a press tour for Belarusian media on 12 February, BelTA has learned.
The local slopes are popular not only with Belarusians but also with Russian visitors. Students from China studying at Belarusian universities come regularly. There have also been tourists from other countries, including the European Union. The center has even hosted guests from South Africa, for whom such landscapes and activities are a novelty.

Diana Pavlovich noted that interest in skiing and snowboarding is growing in Belarus. The center’s main goal is to provide both professional athletes and recreational enthusiasts with comfortable and safe conditions.

“This winter has been record-breaking. As of 10 February, we have already welcomed over 70,000 visitors. There is still half the season ahead. I am confident we will definitely reach the 100,000 mark,” said Diana Pavlovich, adding that last winter, which was warm and snowless, Silichi received around 35,000 visitors.
She added that skiing is one of the most exciting ways to spend leisure time. The tubing slope and indoor ice rink are also particularly popular with families with children.
Silichi expects the season to last until the end of March. There are interesting plans for the future, with changes promised to be substantial and aimed at improving service quality. Projects for further development of the slopes are currently being worked on.
Silichi is the flagship of Belarusian alpine skiing and year-round active recreation. The center features 11 ski runs: two green runs — a tubing slope and a children’s slope; three blue runs, used by the vast majority of visitors; three red runs for confident skiers and those looking to try more challenging routes; and three black runs - a snow park and ski jumps for extreme skiing enthusiasts.
The slopes are equipped with a modern lift system, including four- and two-seat chairlifts and tow lifts. Rental points are available, along with a professional ski school staffed by experienced instructors for both adults and children. Facilities also include cafes, a 37-room hotel, 12 guest eco-cabins made of timber, a restaurant complex, and a wellness center.
Active recreation is also available in summer. Visitors can enjoy the longest zipline in Belarus, a go-karting center, various outdoor activities (tennis courts, mini-football, volleyball and basketball pitches), as well as the Forest Lake recreation area with an equipped beach and 13 picnic gazebos.
