MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) - Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka, No.12 on the WTA ranking, defeated Bernarda Pera of the United States, World No. 70, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 to reach the Adelaide International quarterfinals. The game lasted 1 hour 20 minutes, BelTA has learned.
In the first round, Aryna Sabalenka outplayed Hsieh Su-wei from Chinese Taipei (No. 36) 5-7, 6-1, 7-5.
Aryna Sabalenka will take on Romanian Simona Halep (World No.4) in the quarterfinal.
The Adelaide International will be over on 18 January.
