Marina Zueva
MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) - Belarusian speed skater Marina Zueva placed 15th in the Women’s 3,000m at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy, BelTA has learned.
Twenty athletes, divided into 10 pairs, took part in the 3,000m races. Paired in the seventh heat, Marina Zueva finished behind Kazakhstan’s Nadezhda Morozova. The Belarusian’s time of 4:07.09 secured her 15th position. Victory and an Olympic record went to Italy’s Francesca Lollobrigida, silver was taken by Norway’s Ragne Wiklund, and bronze was won by Valerie Maltais of Canada.



At the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, Marina Zueva finished 11th in this discipline, and four years ago in Beijing, she placed 16th. Marina was a bronze medalist in the team pursuit at the 2020 European Speed Skating Championships. The next event for the Belarusian speed skater will be the 5,000m event, scheduled for the evening of 12 February in Milan.
A total of 2,900 athletes from 94 countries are participating in the ongoing Winter Olympics, including Belarusian athletes Hanna Karaliova (cross-country skiing), Viktoriia Safonova (figure skating), Maria Shkanova (alpine skiing), Hanna Huskova, Anna Derugo, and Anastasiya Andryianava (aerials). The XXV Winter Olympic Games will be running through 22 February.
