MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – Four Belarusians will be in action at the ongoing 2024 Olympic Games in Paris on 1 August, BelTA has learned.
Yauheni Zalaty and Tatsiana Klimovich will compete in the single sculls semifinals at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium. Yauheni Zalaty won the preliminary and quarterfinal heats. Tatsiana Klimovich placed second and third places in the same stages. Each semifinal will feature six rowers, with top three advancing to the finals.
Anastasiya Shkurdai will compete for a spot in the women’s 200m backstroke semifinal at La Defense Arena. The event brought bronze to the athlete at the Doha 2024 World Aquatics Championships in February. Anastasiya Shkurdai’s primary task for today is to qualify for the semifinal that will feature 16 best athletes. In case she does this, she will compete in the evening for a spot in Friday’s final.
Darya Chuprys will kick off her Olympic run with the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women's Qualification. The event will feature 32 athletes, with eight best to advance to the final. The Belarusian qualified for the 2024 Olympics after placing sixth in this discipline at the 2024 ISSF European Championships in Croatia.
