
MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) – President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko has congratulated athletes and coaches on their successful performance at the 3rd CIS Games in Azerbaijan, the NOC press service told BelTA.
Over 1,600 athletes under the age of 23 from thirteen countries took part in the 3rd CIS Games in Azerbaijan, competing in 21 disciplines.
At the 3rd CIS Games, Belarusian athletes won 122 medals: 32 gold, 38 silver, and 52 bronze. The Belarusian team finished third in the medal standings, behind Russia and Azerbaijan. Viktor Lukashenko noted that the Belarusians demonstrated a high level of preparation and confirmed their status as one of the strongest teams in the CIS.

“Your talent, hard training, and dedication have become the key to success. I would like to extend gratitude to the coaches and administrative personnel of the teams. Without your selflessness, patience, and dedication, our athletes would not have achieved such outstanding results,” the NOC head said. “I wish you good health, luck, success in pursuing your dreams, and new victories at the highest level of sport.”
