MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) - On Monday the Palace of Independence hosted a meeting on education; on Tuesday - international affairs; and on Wednesday it opened its doors to 130 young specialists from Mogilev Oblast, Berezino District, and Ivatsevichi District, BelTA has learned.

The head of state has repeatedly emphasized that the future of the country belongs to the youth, and he has repeated that preparation of the younger generation for state governance must begin early. Therefore, for the promising talent pool, this tour of the Palace of Independence serves as a reward for their achievements in professional and public activities and as an added motivation to work even more diligently, so that they may return here in the future in a different capacity.

“I had only seen the Palace of Independence in the news. But today, I visited it and saw everything with my own eyes. That is priceless and will be remembered for a lifetime. For me, it is a great pride and, at the same time, a great honor. I see this as an opportunity, as encouragement from the leadership, and that is very valuable. Anything can happen in life, so I do not rule out that in the future I may return here on a personnel day or at a state awards ceremony,” admitted Yevgeny Melnychenko, teacher at Guk Secondary School No. 1 in Ivatsevichi.

For now, young spetialists are only guests of the Palace of Independence, but they have the chance to explore the details of its interior and listen to fascinating stories from behind the scenes. Together with other tour participants, they learned what else must be done when visiting the Palace of Independence.
Discovering the backstage of high politics
During a tour of the Palace of Independence, visitors can learn how the head of state prepares for events, what factors determine the seating arrangements for participants, and the principles by which the meeting hall is chosen.

“Since childhood, I have dreamed of meeting the president of our country. To be within these walls is a great honor for me. I am impressed by the scale and beauty of our Palace of Independence. I am very happy that today I have in fact taken the first step toward meeting the president. Because I felt the atmosphere in which he works. The first step has been taken, and I will continue moving toward my goal,” shared Dmitry Tokar, First Secretary of the BRSM Ivatsevichi District Committee.

Maksim Borovikov, chief economist at the Babushkino Podvoriye enterprise in Khotimsk District, attended the New Year’s Eve Ball at the Palace of Independence. “I was already deeply honored then that the results of my efforts were recognized at such a high level. That very visit to the Palace of Independence became a motivation to work better and strive forward. Today, that motivation has grown even stronger. Perhaps I will return for a third time for an award or a new position. I won’t make predictions, but I would like to visit here more often,” he said. “During our first visit for the New Year’s Eve Ball, we saw the Palace of Independence in its festive attire. Today, there is an opportunity to learn about its history in more detail, to see the halls where this history is being written. I have loved the history of our country since my school days, so I find literally everything here fascinating.”
Appreciating works of art
The Palace of Independence is not only an official venue but also a cultural platform that has gathered works by Belarusian and foreign masters. Its interiors feature numerous paintings, sculptures, and works of applied art. Of course, it sparks the interest of art enthusiasts.

“I am blown away by the beauty of the Palace of Independence. Every detail is lovely, everything is so artfully done that it’s a treat for the eyes. I want to come here as often as possible to look at every painting, every sculpture, and every detail of the interior design. I was particularly impressed by the ornamentation, which blends harmoniously into the interior. It warms my heart to see something so familiar, so Belarusian,” Yelena Grechnaya, a chemical engineer at the Ivatsevichi distillery, shared her impressions.

Define goals for the future
Excursions to the Palace of Independence are frequent and have already acquired their own traditions. The most popular one is associated with the Hall of State Awards where the president honors the best of the best. It is believed that those who take a photo in this hall will return here in the future to receive an award. With enough effort anything is possible.

“The fact that every person in our country has an opportunity to receive an award from the president is motivation to work in itself. For example, I intend to do it. Like my father I dream of receiving a state award from the head of state,” said Maksim Kashlachev, Deputy Chief of the Law Enforcement and Prevention Department of the Public Security Police of the Berezino District Police Department.
