International Greco-Roman wrestling tournament kicks off in Minsk

MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – The Oleg Karavayev Memorial Greco-Roman wrestling tournament has kicked off at the Minsk Palace of Sports, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Sport and Tourism told BelTA.

Athletes from Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, Greece, and Armenia will battle for medals over two days of this traditional tournament. They will compete for the podium in ten weight categories. The Belarusian team is represented by 27 athletes. The schedule features preliminary bouts and semi-finals at the Palace of Sports on 21 November, followed by the repechage rounds and final matches on 22 November. Coinciding with the main competition, Minsk is also hosting the Karavaychik junior wrestling tournament.
