MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) - Head coach of the Belarus national futsal team Aleksandr Chernik shared his expectations ahead of the upcoming home friendly matches against the Chinese team, BelTA has learned.
The friendlies between the Belarus and China national futsal teams will take place at the Uruchye Sports Palace on 17 and 19 October. The Friday match kicks off at 19:00, and the Sunday match at 16:30. The games are part of Belarus’ preparations for the UEFA Futsal EURO 2026.
“We haven't faced the Chinese team before. We've analyzed the opponent before the game, watched videos; it will be interesting to test our strength against a team that plays a slightly different style of futsal. They are a good, disciplined national team that looks very respectable in the Asian qualifiers alongside the region's established leaders, Vietnam and Thailand. In some ways, they are even similar. Nevertheless, we will not adapt to them but will play our own futsal. Relations between our countries are good, so besides the sporting aspect, there should be a pleasant, friendly atmosphere.”

The specialist also noted that the squad for the matches against China is close to optimal. “Players who compete in other leagues have arrived, raising the profile of our futsal in the world. I feel a sense of unity in the national team; everyone has missed each other and is happy to see one another. We will be testing combinations that will become the foundation for the European championship. Before a major tournament, you want to win more often to build a winning spirit and for the players to believe they can achieve the maximum goals. It's been a long time since the national team has had home matches, and we want to please the fans.”
