MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) - Belarusian speed skater Marina Zueva has received an official invitation to participate in the Mass Start event at the 2026 Olympics in Italy, BelTA learned from the press service of the NOC of Belarus.
Based on the World Cup standings, Marina Zueva did not secure a direct Olympic qualification quota in this event. The spots went to the top 24 women in the Mass Start rankings; Marina was 29th and made it to the reserve list. Today, the organizers confirmed the Belarusian’s participation in the Saturday race.
“We have received all the relevant documents. Marina continues her active preparation for her third event at the Games,” said Vasily Yurchik, the head of the Belarusian team in Italy.
The semifinal of the Women's Mass Start will begin in Milan on 21 February at 17.50 Minsk time, with the final starting at 19.15. At the current Olympic Games, Zueva finished sixth in the 5000m and 15h in the 3000m.
