Belarus U19 fall short in UEFA Euro qualifiers opener

MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) – The Belarus U19 national team gets off to losing start in the first round of the 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification competition on 12 November, BelTA has learned.

Belarusians suffered a 0-2 defeat against Greece in their first Group 3 match in Manavgat, Türkiye, conceding twice in the second half. In the second round on 15 November, the Belarusian team, led by Sergey Sosnovsky, will compete against the hosts, Türkiye, and will wrap up the group stage against Liechtenstein on 18 November.

The top two teams from each of the 13 groups will advance to the elite qualifying round, along with the best third-placed team. The elite round matches will take place in the spring of 2026. The final tournament of the 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, featuring eight teams, will be held on 28 June–11 July in Wales. The Welsh team received an automatic qualification.
