Belarus’ Rudenko takes gold at Russian Speed Skating Championships

MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) - Viktor Rudenko of Belarus claimed victory at the Russian Speed Skating Championships in Kolomna, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus.

The Belarusian posted the best time in the 1,500m event, clocking 1:47.51. He finished three-tenths of a second ahead of Sergei Borodulin from Chelyabinsk Oblast, who took second place. Two more Belarusians made the top ten: Yahor Damaratski rounded out the top five, while Ignat Golovatsiuk placed eighth.

In the overall standings for the current season’s World Cup over the 1,500m distance, Viktor Rudenko holds 43rd place. Earlier at the Kolomna competitions, Belarus’ Hanna Damaratskaya secured victory in the women’s 500m event.
