Belarus name squad for 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September

MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – Head coach of the Belarusian football national match Georgy Kondratiev has named the roster for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September, BelTA has learned.

The roster will include:

goaltenders: Syarhey Chernik (Shakhtyor Soligorsk), Yahor Khatkevich (Dinamo Minsk), Pavel Pavlyuchenko (Rukh Brest);

defenders: Roman Yuzepchuk, Kiryl Pyachenin, Artsiom Rakhmanau (Rukh Brest),

Alyaksandr Sachywka, Roman Begunov, Ruslan Khadarkevich, Gleb Shevchenko (Shakhtyor Soligorsk), Nikolay Zolotov, Aleksandr Pavlovets (Kolos, Ukraine), Maksim Shvyatsow (Dinamo Minsk);

midfielders: Nikita Korzun, Dzmitry Padstrelaw (Shakhtyor Soligorsk), Max Ebong (Astana, Kazakhstan), Vladislav Klimovich, Artyom Bykov (Dinamo Minsk), Pavel Sedko (Dinamo Brest), Denis Grechikho, Artem Kontsevoy (Rukh Brest);

forwards: Maksim Skavysh (Shaktyor Soligorsk), Vitali Lisakovich (Lokomotiv, Russia), Dmitry Antilevski (Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino).

The training camp of the national team will kick off in Minsk on 30 August. The football players will then travel to Ostrava to play the Czech Republic on 2 September. Belarus will play Wales (5 September) and Belgium (8 September) in Kazan.

At the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers Belarus beat Estonia 4-2 and lost to Belgium 0-8. The Group E standings are as follows: Belgium – 7 points (3 matches), Czech Republic – 4 (3), Wales – 3 (2), Belarus – 3 (2), Estonia – 0 (2).
