Belarus kick off training camp ahead of FIFA World Cup qualifiers

MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – The Belarus national football team started training for the final matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, BelTA has learned.

The team gathered in Minsk at the technical center of the Belarusian Football Federation. Coach of the Belarus team Carlos Alos of Spain has selected a group of 24 players for the training camp:

Goalkeepers: Pavel Pavlyuchenko (FC Maxline Vitebsk), Fyodor Lapoukhov (PFC CSKA Sofia, Bulgaria), Maksim Belov (FC Neman Grodno);

Defenders: Kiryl Pyachenin (PFC Krylia Sovetov Samara, Russia), Vladislav Malkevich (FC Ural Yekaterinburg, Russia), Pavel Zabelin (Akritas Chlorakas, Cyprus), Vladislav Kalinin (FC Dinamo Minsk), Roman Begunov (FC Dinamo Minsk), Vadim Pigas (FC Pari Nizhny Novgorod, Russia), Yegor Parkhomenko (FC CSKA 1948 Sofia, Bulgaria), Yegor Khvalko (FC Tobol, Kazakhstan);

Midfielders
: Max Ebong (FC Astana, Kazakhstan), Yevgeny Yablonsky (Asteras Tripolis F.C., Greece), Nikita Korzun (FC Aktobe, Kazakhstan), Valery Gromyko (FC Kairat, Kazakhstan), Artem Kontsevoy (FC Rodina Moscow, Russia), Nikita Demchenko (FC Dinamo Minsk), Mikalay Ivanow (FC Slavia Mozyr);

Forwards: Vitaly Lisakovich (NK Celje, Slovenia), German Barkovsky (Piast Gliwice, Poland), Trofim Melnichenko (FC Porto B, Portugal), Yevgeny Malashevich (FC Dinamo Minsk), Karen Vardanyan (FC Dinamo Minsk), Aleksandr Shestyuk (FC Isloch Minsk Raion).

The team will train at Vesnyanka complex until 13 November before traveling to Copenhagen, where they will face the Danish national team on 15 November. Belarus lost the previous encounter in the first round of Group C 0-6. After Copenhagen, the team moves to Zalaegerszeg, Hungary for their final qualifier against Greece on 18 November, to whom they previously lost 1-5 in Piraeus.

The group standings after four matchdays are as follows: Denmark - 10 points, Scotland - 10, Greece - 3, Belarus - 0. The winners of the 12 European qualifying groups will advance directly to the final stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while the runners-up will compete in the play-offs.
