MINSK, 3 August (BelTA) – Belarus’ Aliaksandra Piatrova and Katsiaryna Ivanova claimed medals at the European Championship 25m/50m/300m/Shotgun in Châteauroux, France, BelTA has learned.

The qualification round saw 44 female competitors, with Katsiaryna Ivanova advancing to the final eight with the second-best score and Aliaksandra Piatrova qualifying fourth. In the finals, Aliaksandra Piatrova scored 32 points to claim the European youth title, defeating Germany's Eileen Pitschke by four points. Katsiaryna Ivanova secured bronze with 24 accurate shots.

Aliaksandra Piatrova, who earlier this year won two silver medals at the European Youth Championship in Croatia (10m air pistol), had previously earned bronze at the senior European Championship and competed at the Paris Olympics.

Belarus's Palina Kastenka narrowly missed the finals by one point, finishing 10th in qualifications, while recent Youth Olympic Festival champion Alina Nestsiarovich placed 13th. Earlier in the French event, Belarusian rifle shooters Daria Chuprys and Nikol Kurylenak had also reached the top ten in their respective youth events.
